Nayantara : Return of the native!
Nayantara is back in Malayalam films after a big interval. That is the latest tiding from Mollywood.
Of course, Nayan is not playing the heroine in this film which has action hero Suresh Gopi playing the male lead.
The film, titled Janmam, will be directed by veteran director Joshi. Gopika is the heroine of the film, shooting of which will start soon.
Nayan will be appearing only in a song sequence for the film. The buzz is that it will be shot in Kodaikkanal in Tamil Nadu. Remember, she did remarkable song sequences in Tamil film, Ghajini and Sivakasi .
The last Malayalam film in which Nayan figured prominently was the Kamal-directed Rappakal , which became a big hit.
Tara had migrated to Kollywood and Tollywood after making her debut in Malayalam film ‘Manassinnakkare’.
Nayantara: A comeback that was not to be!
It was acclaimed as a prelude to Nayantara ‘s comeback to Malayalam cinema. But, alas, that was not to be.
When Nayan was roped in to play Nayantara herself in the Joshi-directed ‘Janmam’, it was welcomed by one and all as the return of the native.
The film features action hero Suresh Gopi in the male lead and Gopika as the heroine.
But then came the twist in the tale.
Taking time off from her busy schedule in Telugu films, Tara rushed to the sets of ‘Janmam’ shooting somewhere near Pollachiin Tamil Nadu.
But, the scriptwriter and director wanted her to do a small role in the film, according to the actress. Agreeing to that would have meant playing second fiddle to Gopika. Something Nayantara would not do, given her exalted status in the film industry right now.
So, Nayans flew back to Tollywood, refusing to play footsie.
The last word on the episode has not been said yet.
Meanwhile, there are reports that MACTA, the association of Malayalam directors, may act against Nayantara.
Nayantara opted out of the Joshi-directed ‘Janmam’ which has Suresh Gopi in the male lead.
Nayantara takes a break!
An occasional break is a must – even for those who shine on the silver screen. Nayantara is no exception to this norm.
So, the Kerala-born Nayan has decided to take a six-month break from the arc lights and the attendant hype and hoopla of it all.
Well, well-endowed Tara certainly deserves it, as she has been beavering away for years on end.
Incidentally, Nayans went to her hometown Tiruvalla in Kerala to join her family for Onam celebrations.
Of course, Nayans, whose lip-locking posters with Silambarasan shocked conservative Tamil Nadu, is looking forward to Diwali release of her much-awaited movie, ‘Vallavan’. She is also part of Sharat Kumar's 100th film ‘Talaimagan’.
The Christian girl is busy in Tollywood as well, where she has completed ‘Boss’ featuring Nagarjuna in the title role.
The million-dollar question agitating the minds of her countless fans is: will she marry long-standing boy friend and her ‘Vallavan’ co-star Silambarasan? Your guess is as good as mine!
Meanwhile, enjoy your break, Nayan!
Nayantara's finest Diwali!
This must surely rank as Nayantara 's best Diwali. For, the feisty belle is set to accomplish a feat, hitherto unachieved by any other actor in Kollywood.
The hot news is that Nayan will have three of her films released during Diwali this year.
The movies are: ‘Thalai Magan’ with Sarath Kumar, ‘Vallavan’ in which she is paired with Simbu and ‘E’ with Jeeva in the male lead.
Incidentally, ‘Thalaimagan’ is Sarath Kumar's 100th film. Nayanthara plays a reporter in the movie.
Then there is ‘Vallavan’ in which, apart from Nayantara, Reema Sen also plays the heroine.
The third film is ‘E’ with Jeeva. In the film, directed by S.P. Jhananathan, Tara plays a bar dancer.
Meanwhile, Nayantara's latest Telugu flick, ‘Boss’ featuring also Nagarjuna , has just been released. She is also to figure in another Telugu flick in which Venkatesh is the hero.
In a way, Nayans is having the best of both the worlds! The Trishas and Asins had better watch out!
Nayantara - The busy bee:
Nayantara is yet to recover completely from a bout of viral fever. The actress is a complete professional and refuses to take even a day’s rest.
She has been shooting a song with Vishal in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao film city for his first straight Telugu film Salute (the dubbed Tamil version is called Sathyam).
Nayan’s frequent trips abroad for shooting for her various films, has left her drained. The climatic changes have played havoc leaving her with a bad cold. Since she is so busy in Tamil and Telugu, if she takes a forced break it will upset her shooting schedule. So the poor girl is shooting round the clock, and is not ready to take rest or pamper herself!
This song that is being shot is tuned by Harris Jayaraj and is shot with a dozen kids at a beautiful set choreographed by Dinesh. Nayan will finish the song and be in Chennai to complete Vishnuvardhan’s Billa.
Nayantara beats Asin to the Rajnikant film!
The race is over at last, and the winner is Nayantara .
Wondering what the commotion is all about? Well, the take from Kollywood is that Nayan has beaten Asin in the race to have a role in Rajnikant’s in-the-making movie, Sivaji .
After an agonizing suspense, Nayantara has been lapped up for the opening song in ‘Sivaji’.
How did Nayan clinch it? Well, the spin is that she shares excellent rapport with Rajnikant . Besides, she has already acted with the Tamil superstar in his super-hit film, Chandramukhi .
These factors must have influenced the decision of Rajni and director Shankar in opting for Nayantara rather than Asin.
Whatever it is, in the race between two Malayali Christian belles, the one from Tiruvalla has got the better of the other damsel.
Congrats, Nayantara!
Nayanthara races past Ileana:
Nayanatara is the next big thing in the south Indian film industry. She crossed the one crore mark as remuneration per film recently. All these days it was the heartthrob of the youth and the girl with the hour glass figure, Ileana , who commanded a remuneration of one crore per film. The distinction has now gone to Nayanatara
She is getting one crore and 10 lakhs for her new film in Tamil. Nayanatara has also revived her affair with hero Simbhu. The two are now back to their romantic liaisons. Nayanatara split with Simbhu two years ago after a much publicized romance.
Nayantara: Riding the roller-coaster in Tollywood!
Trisha may be the number one in Telugu cinema right now. But she had better watch out. For, Nayantara is literally breathing down her neck, career wise.
Ever since her flick, ‘Lakshmi’ featuring Venkatesh became a bumper hit, Nayan has not looked back.
She has been going from strength to strength in Tollywood. The diminutive heroine has again been paired with Venkatesh for another film.
Moreover, her Malayalam films are being remade in Telugu. The first one to be remade is ‘Taskaraveeran’ in which Mammootty is her hero.
The Telugu version has been titled ‘Mahagaramulo Mayagadu’. More Malayalam films featuring Nayan are being remade in Telugu.
Nayantara with Balakrishna:
Nayanatara is now going great guns. The sexy actress ha finally landed a big one with Balakrishna Nayanatara is the big star in 2008 post Billa. She is now in the one crore range and even for advertisements she is being offered nearly a crore. But Nayantara does not want to feature in advertisements but concentrate on films. Nayantara hopes to become number one in Telugu and Tamil in 2008. She has some stiff competition from Trisha and Asin Gunashkar wil direct this film. Nayantara has already acted with Nagarjuna and Venaktesh earlier.
Nayanatara's mother murdered?
Kamala Devi mother of film artist Nayantara was found murdered at her residence in Madhura Nagar in Hyderabad yesterday. The miscreants murdered her and took away about 50 tolas of gold and some cash.
She is believed to be the mother of film actor Nayantara However, it is not yet known if she is the Malayalam actress Nayantara or some junior artist with a similar name.
Nayanatara just can’t stop laughing!
Nayanatara breaks into laughter at the mention of her soon to be released film ‘Dubai Seenu’. The film stars Ravi Teja in the lead and is being directed by Sreenu Vytla. Nayanatara says that the film is an out and out entertainer and a laughter riot. She says that the director has moulded the film in such a way that the audience will be seen asking for more.
The comedy in the film will keep the audience in splits throughout and Ravi Teja in particular has done an excellent job in the comedy scenes. Nayanatara has very high expectations from the film and so are we.
There is no stopping Nayantara!
Not many can boast of eating the cake and having it too. But nippy Nayantara is an exception.
How, you might ask. Well, the answer is Nayan is really lording it over in Tollywood as well as in Tamil cinema.
Last Diwali witnessed three Nayantara films seeing the light of the day - a rare feat -- in Kollywood: ‘Thalaimagan’, ‘E’ and ‘Vallavan’. All of them are doing reasonably well at the box office.
In Telugu cinema, she has completed ‘Boss’ with Nagarjuna in the hero's role. Another film in her kitty is ‘Yogi’ in which Prabhas is her hero.
There is yet another movie featuring Nayans and Ravi Teja, according to the grapevine.
Busy as she is, Nayantara has one regret: she does not have dates for doing films in Malayalam, her home turf.
Let us hope Ms Tara will realize this wish too sooner than later. Till then, freak out, Nayan!
Nayantara’s eyes are her best assets!
The sexy Nayanatara says that she considers her eyes as her best assets. She says that even many of her friends and relatives feel the same. Nayanatara is a Christian by birth and attends church religiously. She also visits temples and offers prayers. Nayanatara is one of the most media-hit stars in recent times.
Her failed love affair with Simbhu, her photos with Simbhu in compromising position were all over the websites sometime back. But she prefers to forget her past and wants to move ahead. She is currently busy with Venkatesh’s film and is looking forward to establishing herself firmly in Tollywood.
Nayanatara still haunts Simbhu:
Simbhu is pining for Nayanatara The actor is still deeply in love with Nayanatara. But it seems to be a one sided-affair, as Nayantara seems to have forgotten him for good. She has cut down her assignments in Tamil and is now concentrating on films in Telugu.
Nayanatara says that she has put her affair with Simbhu behind and now wants to concentrate on her career. She has been lucky in a way, as her film assignments have kept her busy for almost the entire year and she was also abroad for a major part of 2007 in connection with film shootings. But Simbhu simply cannot forget her and he still pines for her love.
Nayantara's triple delight!
If Nayantara is on cloud nine these days, you can't blame her. The feisty heroine richly deserves the adulation that has come her way.
The acclaim and fame has come after sustained hard work over the years, according to the grapevine.
It has been, so to say, a triple delight for Nayan, who made her debut in a Malayalam film.
The feat could even get her into the Guinness Book of Records. Three of her Diwali releases, ‘E’, ‘Vallavan’ and ‘Thirumagan’ have been running to packed houses.
It is not given to many to enjoy such triple success. No wonder, Ms Tara is heady from the intoxication of success.
In neighbouring Telugu cinema, Nayan is right on top. Hit after hit has boosted her image and status in Tollywood. Her flick, ‘Lakshmi’ co-starring Venkatesh has been a super hit. Now comes ‘Don’ in which she has Nagarjuna as her hero.
The icing on the cake is her special appearance in the introductory song sequence in the Rajnikant starrer Sivaji .
Last but not the least, Nayantara recently launched her own website at a star-studded function held at Hyderabad.
Now, with such a fabulous record, can you grudge her the happiness ? Certainly not.
Whoop it up, Nayan!
Nayanatara celebrates birthday in 'Yogi' sets:
Glamorous heroine Nayanatara had celebrated her birthday on November18 on the sets of Yogi directed by VV Vinayak and produced by Kadapa Mayor P Ravindranath Reddy on the banner of Eswari Films with Prabhas as the hero. A grand celebration was arranged and the heroine cut the cake amidst the unit members. Director Vinayak, Hero Prabhas wished her a happy birthday with bouquets. Nayanatara says, 'I am very happy to celebrate my birthday on the sets of Yogi This is a memorable birthday. I thank the Eswari Films unit for arranging it in such a
grand way.
Nayantara eyeing the number one slot in Kollywood!
The break with ‘Silambarasan’ seems to have worked wonders for Kerala-born heroine, Nayantara .
With the traumatic experience behind her back, Nayan is concentrating on pepping up her career in Kollywood.
There seems to be a method in Nayan’s decision to focus on Tamil cinema.
With Jyothika having retired and Asin busy with her Bollywood debut, the Number one position in Tamil cinema is up for the grabs.
Right now, Tara has three Tamil films in her kitty. She is the heroine of Ajith in the remake of the Rajnikant starrer, ‘Billa’.
Then there is ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ with Rajni’s son in law, Dhanush . The third film featuring the actress who is looking ravishing these days having shed weight, is ‘Sathyam’ with the fast-rising hero, Vishal .
No wonder, Nayan is at peace with herself and the world of late. Keep it up, Nayantara!
Nayantara creates another record!
Top heroine Nayantara seems to have an uncanny knack of creating records at regular intervals.
The first time Nayan did that was during Diwali last year. The year saw three of her films hitting the theatres: ‘Vallavan’, ‘E’ and ‘Thirumagan’.
The hat-trick did wonders to her career and she went on scaling new heights in fame and popularity both in Tamil cinema and neighbouring Telugu film world.
Now Nayans has created another record of sorts: this time by shooting for more than 200 days abroad.
It all started when the glamorous actress went to Canada in November 2006 to shoot for Telugu film, ‘The Boss’.
Her next destination was Egypt where she participated in the shooting of the Telugu flick, ‘Yogi’.
From there she airdashed to some west European countries in connection with the shooting of another Telugu movie, ‘Dubai Seenu’.
On completion of the work, Nayantara hopped over to Bangkok to participate in the shooting work of Tamil film, ‘Yaradee Mohini’.
She rounded off her long foreign shooting spree with a stint in Malaysia before flying home.
Now, that is a record no other actress or actor can flaunt! And it would be pretty difficult for anyone to break it.
Bravo, Nayantara!
Mumaith follows Nayanatara, hires bodyguards:
The hot and happening item girl turned heroine Mumaith Khan is doing what Nayantara did a little time back. Mumaith has hired a set of personal bodyguards!. Nayanatara had hired bodyguards after her estrangement with Simbu. So whenever Nayanatara went to Chennai, she had her personal bodyguards in tow.
No Mumaith is doing just that. And the reason is that wherever she goes, people mob her. And some even go the extent of trying to abuse her physically. Mumaith is making a whopping sum of 35 lakh for her film Maisamma IPS So spending a few thousands on personal bodyguards not only make sense but will also enhance her star status and prestige.
Vijay, Nayantara watches Anjathey:
Narain is a happy man these days. His Anjathey is slowly turning out to be a sleeper hit. And in upmarket multiplexes, the film is doing excellent business. The talk about the film is so encouraging that family audiences and ladies are now going for the film.
And on Tuesday night, Narain held a show for IlayathalapathyVijay at the Four Frames preview theatre in Chennai. Nayanthara who had also expressed her desire to watch the film came for the special screening. Confessed Nayantara after the show: “I generally never get a chance to watch films like this. I heard so much about it and now I know why the film is different and engaging. It is an amazing and gripping film”.
Vijay who came with wife Sangeetha and daughter Divya Sasha, Director I.V.Sasi wife Seema and their children were other guests at the screening. After the show, Vijay told Narain that he really liked the film especially his performance and the song Kannadasan Karaikudi….
Hyderabad heat downs Nayanatara:
The temperature in the city is rising rapidly. The city enjoyed cool climate for about a couple of weeks following some heavy rains. But the temperature has now risen to about 41 degrees.
The heat wave like conditions is forcing several people to stay indoors. Heroine Nayanatara is in Hyderabad in connection with the shooting for her latest Tamil film. While on the sets, Nayanatara suffered sunstroke and collapsed. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and is undergoing treatment. She is likely to be out of action for at least a week.
Nayantara, taken for a ride!
Nayantara had committed to do a song for Malayalam director Joshy’s Janmam featuring Suresh Gopi and Gopika in the lead.
Says Nayan: “I had promised to veteran director Joshy, to do a special appearance in a song as Nayantara So I had taken two days off from my busy Telugu schedule and flew from Hyderabad to Coimbatore and from there by road to Pollachi yesterday (June 28) for the shoot”.
But on reaching Pollachi, Nayan was shocked to hear from a production manager and writer S.N.Swamy that she plays a small but important character in the film along with a song! Says a bewildered Nayan: “I had agreed to do the film in the first place just because I play myself. And now to do second fiddle in a Malayalam film is suicidal for my career”.
And to rub it in director Joshy never bothered to meet Nayan and instead send his production manager who threatened her that she will be boycotted by the industry. The latest we hear is that MACTA, the directors association in Malayalam is planning to issue red card against Nayantara.
Nayan told Moviebuzz: “How can they do this to me? I went all the way to Pollachi as Joshy sir is one of the most respected directors. After getting my dates to do a special appearance song, they cannot bully me to do a character in the film. I am not bothered if they threaten me saying that I will be banned from the industry. Later when I packed my bags to leave, they agreed to stick to a song appearance but by then I had lost trust in the project”.
Under these circumstances what could poor Nayan do? It is obvious that on the pretext of just a song appearance the makers of Janmam wanted to cash in on her current craze. However, Nayan has reached dizzy heights and is today right there at the top and she has to be extremely careful on how she is projected in her films. Which actor in the country is not conscious about their image and all what Nayantara did was to protect it at any cost! She is really a brave girl!
Nayantara out of Parunthu:
For fans of Nayan, the biggest thrill came when Mammootty's new flick Parunthu was to star Nayantara as heroine. But their joy may be shortlived as rumours are flying that she may not be able to set aside a month for the shooting of Parunthu, as she's busy in Kollywood shooting for Rajinikanth's Kuselan and Ajith's Aegan and the dates would clash.
Her last full length role in Malayalam was in Mammootty's Rappakal, a moderate hit. Nayantara has always maintained that her role in Rappakal was the best she has ever done.
Parunthu's director M. Padmakumar has decided not to have a heroine opposite Mammootty, as the superstar has had no heroines in many of his films.
Mammootty will play the role of a private financier Purushu, who loves none and is not loved by any one.
Nayanatara game for swimsuit:
The film is shooting in Malaysia. Nayanatara will appear in a swimsuit in the film. Her charm and oomph in Dubai Seenu is still fresh in the mind of the audience. If she can look glamorous in the traditional sari and salwar Kameez, imagine what she would like in a two piece swim suit.
Nayanatara is all set too woo the audience in a two-piece swim suit in the film Bill 2007 in Tamil. The film is currently in progress at some picturesque locales in Malaysia.
Nayanthara again with Ajith:
After the super success of Billa the glam Nayanthara pairs up with Ajith for the movie Aegan. This Raju Sundaram's film, featuring Ajith in the lead role, was said to be introducing Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif
After Katrina had pulled off from the venture, efforts were made to rope in queen of Telugu filmdom, Ileana into the venture.
Finally Nayana got the chance. The news is confirmed by reliable sources belonging to the production house Ayngaran International, which produces the film. It is believed that Nayan has been booked and paid an advance.
t will be a back to back film for Ajith-Nayan pair after the successful Billa. Nayantara , meanwhile, as already announced, will act in Kuselan in Hyderabad, in which she is paired with superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajini misses Nayantara?
Ajith's Billa has been drawing attention right from the day it was announced. The inaugural function, which happened recently, was a very low key affair. The lead pair of the original version Rajini and Sripriya were also present to wish the team luck.
What drew the attention of press and public alike was the conspicuous absence of the controversy queen Nayantara , who has been roped in for the lead role. Rajini, who has an eye for every detail, enquired director Vishnuvardhan about her absence for which he has stated that Nayan didn't want to get raked up again in any sort of spar with the press. The news is that Nayan will be joining the team in Malaysia next month, right in time for the shooting.
Talking about the music of the film, the director was full of accolades for music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Vishnuvardhan recalled that the young music director, one of the fastest music composers in recent times, has composed music for Billa swiftly. He added that the music, with two remixes, "My name is Billa and Vethalai," has come out very well.
Nayantara irks Trisha?
It seems Trisha is not having the best of relations with Nayantara When Vijay launched the flag for his fans associations, Nayan was the ‘surprise’ guest on the stage. Nayan’s presence on the occasion was construed by many as a move to irritate Vijay’s ‘Kuruvi’ co-star.
Rumour mills say that the recent ‘patch-up and split’ drama involving Nayantara and Simbu and alleged ‘affair’ between Vishal and Nayan are the handiwork of those close to Trisha and that these “news” were floated specifically to embarrass Nayantara.
What would be the next missile from Nayantara’s side?
Nayantara to play Vikram's heroine!
Kollywood topper Nayantara has an uncanny knack of being in the news.
Kollywood buzz says she had been left out of the Vijay-starrer ‘Kuruvi’, having been replaced by Trisha .
But then, the feisty heroine is not one to brood over setbacks. After all, the way she bounced back after her affair with Simbu ended was nothing short of remarkable.
Now, the latest take on Nayans is that she has been signed up against another Tamil superstar Vikram .
The film titled ‘Raja Vesham’ will be produced by Mohan Natarajan of Ralakaliamman Films, which is the producer of ‘Vel’ featuring Surya in the title role.
The heroine, who created a sensation by locking lips with Simbu for a poster that outraged traditional Tamil Nadu, is rubbing shoulders with Ajith in ‘Billa’, Dhanush in ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini’ and Vishal in ‘Sathyam’.
You have to give it to Nayantara. She knows how to hog the headlines!
Shriya returns the compliment to Nayantara!
Nippy heroine Nayantara did a song sequence for the Rajnikant starrer Sivaji in which Shriya played the female lead.
Now, it is Shriya's turn to return the compliment to Nayans, according to the grapevine.
Well, the tiding from Tollywood is that Shri has agreed to do an item number for the Nayantara- Venkatesh starrer ‘Thulasi’.
She has been paid a tidy sum for doing the song item, it is learnt.
Ever since ‘Sivaji’ was released, Shriya has been going from strength to strength.
Her next films due for release feature Vijay and Vikram in the lead roles. She has also been snapped up to star against Ajith in another Tamil film.
No wonder, saucy Shriya is in the seventh heaven these days!
Nayantara riding high in Tollywood after super success of 'Tulasi'!
Another superhit in her kitty, and Nayantara is literally snapping at the heels of top Tollywood heroine, Trisha Krishnan .
The battle for the top heroine spot in Telugu cinema has well and truly hotted up with the runaway success of Nayantara's latest Telugu flick, ‘Tulasi’.
According to the grapevine, Tulasi, which deals with a family-oriented theme, has taken the Telugu film world by storm.
Nayantara was also part of another blockbuster, ‘Lakshmi’. Two hits in rapid succession has pitch forked her to the very top.
Interestingly, in both the films, her hero was Venkatesh . No wonder, Venky considers Nayan as his luck heroine.
The talk in Tollywood is that in his next film also, Venkatesh wants Nayan to be his heroine.
No wonder, Nayan's smile is getting wider and wider these days. She is soaking in all the adulation and attention that has come her way in the wake of the super success of ‘Tulasi’.
Venky weds Nayanatara!
Hero Venkatesh is all dressed up in wedding robes and is ready to tie the knot with Nayanatara She is looking gorgeous in a White silk sari with glittering ornaments.
The scene is from the movie ‘Tulasi’ which is being shot in Hyderabad. The wedding will take place over a period of three days at a specially erected set in Hyderabad. The film is slated for release in September.
Nayanatara to follow Sridevi:
Nayanatara is making waves both in Telugu and Tamil. She has done some very good films and her films too have done well at the box office. She now wants to do only glamorous roles like Sridevi Nayanatara says that she has had enough of deglamourized roles and henceforth will reject such offers even if they come from big banners. So get set to see the beautiful Nayantara in films that heighten her glamour and beauty.
Nayanthara prefers Saris:
The much-in-demand beauty Nayanatara looks good in any costume. The glamorous actor however says that she loves sari the most and prefers to wear them. She feels that one can look sexy even in a sari. She has to wear costumes in films as per the requirement of the film.
But the actor is particular that there is at least one scene in every movie where she is shown wearing a sari. She proved this in Dubai Seenu She looked gorgeous in a song with Ravi Teja and she was seen in saris for the song that actually heightened her sex appeal.
Nayantara is the flavour of the season in Kollywood!
The super success of Billa has catapulted glamorous Nayantara to the very top in Tamil cinema.
With ‘Billa’ breaking a number of records and raking it in at the box office, Nayantara has become the most sought after actress in Tamil film world.
Reports are rife that the producers and directors are making a beeline to Nayan's door to sign her up for future films.
The year 2007 has been extremely good for this bright-eyed Kerala-born actress who made it big both in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
Her latest Telugu movie, ‘Lakshmi’ is a smashing hit in Tollywood. Such is the impact ‘Lakshmi’ has created that it has been dubbed into Malayalam as well.
Now the Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that ‘Lakshmi’ will be dubbed into Tamil too soon.
It would be no exaggeration to say that a Nayantara wave is well and truly on in Kollywood.
Well done Nayantara!
Nayan confirmed for Robot:
The sexy and hot Nayantara has been confirmed as one of the heroines in Shankar’s new film Robot. Nayantara is now on a high following the success of her latest film ‘Billa’. She is now the most sought after actress in Kollywood. Robot will be made with a budget of over 100 crore. Nayantara acted with Rajnikanth in ‘Chandramukhi’. She later went on to do an item number for Sivaji.
Nayantara the highest paid heroine in Kollywood?
Has gorgeous girl, Nayantara become Tamil cinema's highest paid heroine? That is the question doing the rounds in Kollywood these days.
Nayan, who used to charge around Rs 25-30lakh per film, now commands a fee of Rs 70 lakh, says the buzz.
The sudden hike in her fee is the result of the super success of her latest flick, Billa , according to the grapevine.
Apart from superstar Ajith , the ‘Billa’ success has benefited Nayantara also immensely, according to trade circles.
Her super performance as a glam girl in ‘Billa’ fetched her rave reviews, besides boosting her status in the industry.
Whatever, it is, the going is extremely good for Nayans, who is doing equally well in neighbouring Tollywood, too.
Nayan and her black beauty!
It was a dream comes true for Nayanthara, when she drove her brand new black BMW- X 5, the legendary German automaker's first entry into the luxury SUV segment!
Last month, the BMW-X5 was delivered at her home in Thiruvalla, Kerala after placing an order for it with BMW's Mumbai dealer when she was shooting for a Telugu film there. It took nearly two months for the dealer to deliver it as X5 is produced at BMW's American plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She loves catching up with news of all the latest on cars from the auto magazines and from Internet. In fact, when she gave an interview to sify.com earlier she had confessed: “My only obsession in life are cars, mobiles and watches”.
She wanted to get the registration number 9 (sounds like Nayan), but did not get it and has settled for another fancy number. She has not driven much in Kerala's narrow roads full of pot holes, and is waiting to bring it to Chennai and zip on the ECR!
Her dream car was the BMW, ever since she saw Malayalam superstar Mammootty driving it during the shoot in one of her early Malayalam films. And when she came to Kochi for the shooting of Twenty: 20 in which she does a special appearance, her Black Beauty was the centre of attraction among public and other stars. The others with BMW- X 5, are our Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Dhanush.
Nayantara to play Ranjikant's heroine again?
Will Nayantara score a hattrick? This is the question doing the rounds of Kollywood these days.
The question has arisen because India’s top star Rajnikant is on the lookout for a heroine for his forthcoming flick, ‘Kuuselan’.
And the heroine whose name is being mentioned in this regard happens to be Nayantara, says the buzz.
Nayan has already played heroine to Rajni in Chandramukhi . She also figured in a dance with the super star in Sivaji .
Now, director P. Vasu, who is directing ‘Kuuselan’ seems interested in signing up Nayans for the female lead role.
‘Kuuselan’ is the remake of a Mammootty -starrer, ‘Katha Parayumbol’, which deals with the friendship between a super star and a tailor.
In the film, Rajni will play himself – a super star. The role of friend will be enacted by Pasupathy. Speculation is rife that heroine of yesteryears, Simran , may also do a cameo in the film, which is set to go on the floors on February 15 after Rajni is back from the Himalayas.
Vishal dumps Reema Sen?
Vishal was said to be dating Reema Sen for quite some time. Now he is reportedly eyeing Nayanatara , her co-star in a new film. He is seen praising Nayanatara sky high.
He first talked about her beautiful eyes. And now it is about her beautiful body and sexy figure. What next? And Nayanatara is said to be enjoying his company. All this has left Reema Sen cold.
Nayan’s new lover:
The hot and sexy Nayanatara is now racing towards the number one spot in Kollywood. She has recently signed up for a film for a record 1.20 crore as remuneration. This is the highest in the south so far.
Nayanatara had a hot and steamy affair with hero Simbhu some time back. She is now reportedly once aging in love. This time she is in a hot relationship with her co-star in the film Salute – Vishal The two are going steady and Vishal is said to have flared up when a media person asked him about it. As they say – there is no smoke without fire!
Nayan's 'Sivaji' look:
Nayantara , we guess is a lucky charm for Rajnikanth? She was Rajni’s heroine in Chandramukhi, which sky rocketed her to superstardom. And when Shankar decided to have a top actress to do the introductory song with the superstar, he went ahead and signed Nayan.
Remember that any top actress or item number girl in Bollywood would have given their right hand to do the song, and Shankar never repeats a pair who has featured in some other film. He went ahead and did it because the whole song is supposed to evoke nostalgia, and the audiences are getting their first glimpse of the hero in a song.
There is a Nayan craze in Tamilnadu and Andhra, which is sure to make the song popular with the masses. The song Balelakka… was shot in Wai near Pune with hundreds of Theyyam and puli dancers from Kerala. The costumes were specially designed by Manish Malhotra and Nayantara wears traditional Tamilnadu saris will have the viewers whistling in anticipation for more!
Nayanthara in demand?
The Malayalam babe Nayanatara is now making good progress in Telugu. She has acted in many films with some of the top actors. The actor ‘s career graph is now zooming upwards.
And taking advantage of her growing popularity, she has now hacked up her price. Nayanatara used to charge anywhere between 25 lakhs and 40 lakhs per movie. Now her manager has reportedly quoted 75 lakhs as her remuneration for signing on the dotted line. At this rate, Nayanatara may soon catch up with Ilenana. Ilenana has now touched the one crore mark for her new film.
Nayanthara heart beats still for Mollywood:
Princess of Malyalam cinema then, and lady of raunch in Kollywood at present, Diana Kuriam, better known as Nayanthara, is a sure craze in Malluwood.
The actress in spite of her multifarious regional assignments continues to be adored by her Malayalee fans till date.
All the dubbed versions of her Telugu flicks like Lakshmi, Boss, Yogi and Dubai Seenu etc were sold like hot cakes back home.
Even her Kollywood venture Billa turned out to be a money-ringer for its distributors in Kerela.
Not only this, her forthcoming venture Yaaradi Nee Mugini has been sold off for a whopping sum of Rs 42 lakhs, the highest ever paid for a Dhanush starrer in Kerela.
In fact, today distributors and theatre owners are more inclined to stake on a Nayanthra starrer than any Mohanlal films, and last week noted NRI distributor Mulakkupadam was in Chennai to fetch the rights of Nayanthara-Ajit starrer Aegan which will soon see its gala release shortly.
Reportedly the distributor is willing to pay up to a crore to fetch the rights of the film.
Actually its seen as more profitable to invest in the dubbing rights of a Tamil or Telugu films than shifting for an original Malayalam film.
The craze of hot Nayanthara can be well estimated from the fact that the dubbed version of her Thulasi, which was released with great bells and whistles back home this weekend, was much-publicised and promoted before it finally made it to the theatres.
Nayantara gets hot and hotter!
The sexy Malayalam babe Nayanatara is now the hottest star in the south and also the most sought after. She made a big impact with her hot bikini show in the film Billa. Nayanatara is now the highest paid heroine commanding close to 1.25 crore per film.
Nayanatara is now acting in a bilingual film Salute Vishal is the hero. The film is almost complete and is getting ready for release. Vishal sports a six pack body for his role of police officer in the film.
But what is catching the attention of the people is that Nayanatara has done some very intimate and hot scenes in the film. She is sure to set the screen ablaze both in Telugu as well as Tamil with the film Salute.
Vishal and Nayanatara are now in deep love?
Vishal is now getting ready to come back with a bilingual film titled Salute Vishal pairs up with Nayanatara in the film. The romance between Vishal and Nayanatara is now the talk of the town. There is also a very hot kissing scene in the film.
The rumour now doing the rounds is that Vishal and Nayanatara are now in deep love. When asked about this, Vishal got angry with the media and said that there were many other pressing issues before the media like price rise and asked them to concentrate on them.
Nayantara gives shock to producer!
The hottest babe in Kollywood is the long legged beauty from Kerala, Nayanatara She is now the most sough after actress following the stupendous success of Billa and now Kuselan. Nayanatara has both good looks and acting skills and this has catapulted her to the top in a brief span of time.
Nayanatara was charging about 50 to 60 lakhs per film till last year. She has since increased her remuneration several times. She is now reportedly asking for anywhere between 1. 5 and 1. 7 crore per film.
A Telugu producer who wanted to cast her in his film was shocked when he heard about her remuneration and hastily dropped the idea of casting her in the film. Some observes say that the way Nayanatara is going, it would not be a surprise if she touches the 2 crore mark soon.
Nayantara prays to God!
People attribute different reasons for their success in life. In addition to hard work and unbeaten self-determination, learning from one's mistakes, banking on one's strengths, courage and confidence are also important. But for theists, prayer is equally important in all struggles for victory! Nayantara too believes the power of prayer and among the temples she visits is the Nellaiappar Temple in Tirunelveli.
After shooting a song sequence for the Vishal-starrer Sathyam in Tenkasi, the highest paid actress in the South headed straight to the Nellaiappar temple, which dates back to 700 AD and was built for Shiva and Parvathi (the consort to Lord Shiva) by the Pandyan kings. The unit members were surprised with the sudden change in her programme.
But why did she make this sudden visit? Possibly because she was nearby and possibly because she is about to join the Ajith-starrer Aegan unit in Yercaud.
It is the second time that the actress has visited this temple in which Lord Vishnu and sage Agastya are believed to have worshipped Shiva. Nayantara's first visit to the temple was a few years ago while she was shooting for the film Ayya, her debut venture.
Nayantara – En route to numero uno?
There is no greater happiness for an actor to be called the number one in an industry. When it comes to male artistes, the trend is such that one actor dominates the industry for decades. MGR and now Rajinikanth have been 'Kings of Tamil Cinema' for entire generations. But the leading ladies of Tamil Cinema have a completely different ball game.
With much lesser 'market time' and that too scarred with the prospects of getting married and bidding adieu totally to films the 'throne' at times finds no takers. Such is the scenario in Tamil films now after both Simran and Jyothika got married. Though Simran has made a comeback, her initial charm has withered a bit after marriage.
So, who would be the proud owner of the much coveted throne? The contenders probably are Nayantara, Asin, Trisha and Shriya though Tamanna and Kajal Agarwal could give stiff competition in the future.
With Asin being in demand all over India and her foray into Hindi films with actors Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, her concentration in Tamil films could diminish that much. Trisha, the reigning queen of the Telugu film industry also has two industries to manage.
Nayantara's exotic appeal is fast catching with Tamil youth and this is reflected in the kind of movies she is working in. Her stylish demeanor had been captured rather ravishingly in ‘Billa’. After that, the floodgates have literally opened.
She considered her being cast opposite superstar Rajinikanth a benediction. But then, to be cast once again with the 'style king' in ‘Kuselan’ is sheer ecstasy. This could give her the much needed edge on her peers.
She is also being paired for the very first time with Vijay in 'Villu'. Vijay fans are of the strong opinion that the choice has been excellent and are looking forward to seeing both sizzle together on screen. This expectation has risen owing to a song sequence in 'Sivakasi' that had the pair sway together in a fast paced song.
And then there is 'Aegan' with Ajith. Yet another big boost for the damsel from Kerala. In 'Sathyam' Nayantara has been assigned the role of a daring reporter and interestingly 'punch dialogues' have been written for her character. The movie has Vishal playing a cop for the first time.
With these releases the throne might very well belong to Nayantara very soon and fill the void that Simran and Jyothika had created with their marriages.
Diana Kurien (Nayanthara's real name) has indeed come a long way from where she began.
Top Kollywood Heroine Now ”Nayanthara”
Nayanthara, now the highest paid in kollywood
Its success all the way for Nayan after Billa. Her Yaaradi Nee Mohini is the first hit this summer and she has some really big projects lined up for her here. She has been signed opposite superstar Rajinikanth in Kuselan. She is acting in Aegan opposite Ajith. Her Kollywood assignments seems to get bigger and bigger everyday. Now she has singed the movie Singam opposite Vijay. It can’t get bigger than this for Nayantara, as she is acting with all the biggies like Rajinikanth, Ajith, Vijay.
Her Sathyam with Vishal is ready and raring to go, and the young actress is positive her role in Sathyam is going to be well appreciated among the With all these positives on her side, the latest buzz is that Nayantara has hiked her fee. She is reportedly getting 1 crore for Singam. With this she will become one of the highest paid actress.
Yaaradi Nee Mohini Review
Malayalam film ‘Manasin Akkarai’ was Nayantara’s first film. She plays the only daughter of an old Communist couple. The film featured Jayaram and Chemeen Sheela also and one can see Nayan’s meteoric rise in films today.Hari’s ‘Iyya’ was a base for this. It was her first Tamil film and the hero was Sarath Kumar. Then she acted with Rajini in ‘Chandramukhi.’ Telugu films followed where she became a top heroine. Her shattered love affair with Simbu was a setback but she bounced back to grandeur.
She was all glamour in ‘Billa’ and all character in ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini.’ With films like ‘Egan,’ ‘Sathyam,’ ‘Kuselan’ and Villu,’ she’s the top Kollywood heroine now.She has been signed on opposite Karthi in a film produce dby Lingusamy’s Tirupathi Brothers. It’s said that she will get a whopping 12 crores for this, more than what Trisha or Ileana command. Once ‘Kuselan’ gets released, maybe getting Nayantara as heroine would be costlie
The film is a bit slow in the beginning for the first twenty minutes or so and then gathers momentum due to excellent performances by Dhanush, Nayanthara, Raghuvaran, Karthick and Saranya Mohan. The film starts with Dhanush in search for a job facing all sorts of questions in his interviews and finally getting placed in a company where Nayanthara is his project leader.Raghuvaran plays the role of a usual middle class father in his own beautiful way. The film takes a huge turn when Raghuvaran dies the next day after he was insulted by Nayanthara.Dhanush was left stranded and his friend Karthick comes to his rescue by inviting him to his native place for his marriage. A disaster awaits Dhanush when he comes to know that Nayanthara is the fiancee of Karthick.
The cute Saranya Mohan who has been casted as the sister of Nayanthara is full of vigor and slowly a love triangle forms between Dhanush and the sisters. Saranya's character is handled exceptionally well. She is portrayed as an adolescent girl madly in love but later was made to realise that its too early to seek a guy in life by Dhanush himself. But the downside is that the director has just forgot to decide the fate of Karthick. The climax is a bit too lengthy and should have been crisper. The film deserved a clean and clear
Pyramid Saimira, the worldwide distributors of Rajinikanth’s Kuselan, has postponed the release date of the film to 1 August. The bilingual film (Tamil and Telugu), which will hit the theatres with 1000 prints worldwide, was earlier slated to release on 25 July. However, the delay occurred due to post production work. A remake of the Malayalam movie Kadha Parayumpol, the film will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu as Kuselan and Kathanayukudu respectively. Kuselan, directed by P. Vasu, will feature Rajinikanth in 20 costumes. Pyramid Saimira is expecting the film to take the best-ever opening of 2008.
Earlier while acting for the film “Vallavan” Nayanthara and Simbu were trapped by the media for their love but later they both split after the film. In recent times there were buzzes that Nayan and Simbu met together for a party at Chennai after this incident the buzz started firing. Latest from the pair is some of the half nude clips and stills of Nayanthara with Simbu showing her entire….
It was Kavya Madhavan trapped for the similar kind of issue with Swamiji again another actresses trap in a quick succession. There was still confusion that the clips and stills were morphed or original. It’s only the cheap money makers who are creating more problems to the actress by circulating the fake videos and stills through mobiles and net. Nayanthara is a leading actress and had a good image in cine industry these kind of buzzes will hurt the actress
Nayanthara glamorous appearance after the film “Billa” and now after seeing the hot picture of Sathyam, actor Vijay and Director prabhu deva shoots hot song sequence with Vijay and Nayanthara at Adhirapalli waterfalls at Chalakudi Kerala. Actually there were no ideas of making this song but after watching the hot stills of Nayan in Sathyam the song sequence were taken. The Villu location gets heated after seeing the hot performance of Vijay and Nayanthara in sets.
In this songs Nayan exposes with black thin in which Nayan will remove her clothes one by one and then dances with Vijay. Nayanthara made justice after she had paid a whopping amount for Villu!!!
Kamal Hassan after the commencement of “Marmayogi” controversies started revolving Kollywood industry. The latest buzz is that Kamal Hassan is trying to include his dream project “Marudhanayagam” in the film “Marmayogi”. The Universal actor Kamal Hassan started the Marudhanayagam project in style but can’t finish the project which he likes to do.
The appearance of Kamal and storyline of the new Marmayogi seems that he is sporting “Maruthanayagam” again. Maruthanayagam was a warrior of 18th century and Marmayogi story is based on 7th century. Hope Universal Hero will give the same kind of stuff what he had given in his latest release “Dasavatharam”

he 100-odd technicians of forthcoming Rajnikanth-starrer Tamil film Kuselan got a windfall of Rs.4.5 million as its hero, producer and director pooled part of their fees and donated the amount to them during the movie’s audio release here.
“In my endeavour to help the unsung heroes of the film industry - the technicians, I have networked with producer Vijay Kumar and director P. Vasu to donate Rs.1.5 million from their overflow and fees, respectively, and added a similar amount from my emoluments,” superstar Rajnikanth announced Monday night.
His announcement was received with thunderous applause from the audience of technicians who were being recognised in such a fashion for the first time in the south Indian film industry.
According to the movie’s publicists, Kuselan is an effort on Rajnikanth’s part to help his mentor and director K. Balachander.
“When producers said I had to do it sans a big advance on a shoestring budget, I agreed because I liked its story,” Rajnikanth said.
Balachander, who partly owns the film’s rights, was overwhelmed by Rajnikant’s efforts and said, “Though I cannot claim to be as great as Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, I can say with pride that Rajni is my Vivekananda.”
Remake of Malayalam hit Katha Parayumbol starring Mammooty, Kuselan is said to have been made at a cost of Rs.600 million, according to industry sources. The storyline is about a film star helping an old acquaintance. It also stars actresses Nayanthara and Meena.
Director Vasu told reporters that though the movie depicts Rajnikanth in 20 different get-ups, including as an Egyptian Pharaoh, it is not an effort to belittle Kamal Haasan whose Dasavatharam featured him in 10 roles.
“The two films are totally different in nature,” Vasu said.Premiere show of Rajnikant’s Telugu Kathanayakudu(Kuselan ) was held on July 31st night in style. Huge list of Telugu celebrities attended the premiere held at Ad Labs in Hyderabad, including Rajnikant, Jagapathi Babu and Meena.

Asked the secret of his young looks in the promos, Rajnikanth modestly said, “I take the necessary dietary precautions, avoid excessive salt, sugar, milk and think positive.”
The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film are expected to release later this month with over 450 prints in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, said a spokesman of its distributors Pyramid Saimira.
At Tirupathy Sri Venkatachalapathy temple South Indian superstar RajiniKanth offered prayers for ‘Kuselan’ and its Telugu version ‘Kathanayukudu’ success. He thanked his for the success of Kuselan and said he would start shooting for Robot from the 10th of August. The shooting would kick start in the USA , which is to be directed by Shankar.
Rajini Speaks up on Apology - Nothing more to the Speculation Tamil film industry has reacted sharply on the regrets expressed by Tamil superstar Rajnikanth. Saratkumar, Satyaraj and Radha Ravi expressed their anger.
While, Bharathiraja and controversy queen Khushboo said that superstar has done for the welfare of film producers.Rajini at a press meet in connection with honouring of technicians involved in ‘Kuselan,’ on Saturday, Said
I don’t want to add anything more to the speculation. When I said we have to kick (udaikkanum) those in Karnataka opposing supply of water to Tamil Nadu, I was referring to those who indulged in violence and not everyone in general. Yes, I should have been more specific. I should have clarified this matter on the stage that day itself.
I have been quoted as saying that ‘I have learnt my lesson.’ Well, life is all about learning.
Director K. Balachander (Kuselan producer) urged members of the film industry to cooperate and stand united, media had reported that Rajini “apologised” and said
Rajini only said that if his words had hurt anyone he regrets having said that (varundugiren). He has nowhere used the word “mannippu” (apology). Please don’t read between the lines.
At a time when Tamil technicians were making a mark in Bollywood and when Tamil cinema was receiving attention from all over the world, there should be no split in the film fraternity.
